In 1990, the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) was passed as a federal statute. The Clery Act requires institutions to provide the campus community with timely and accurate information about campus crimes and safety so they can make informed and reasoned decisions about their personal safety.
Each year, an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is published with information about the previous three years' reported crimes occurring within Oregon State University's geography (Click here to view historical reports). The purpose of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is to provide a one-stop resource for information about crimes and fire safety at Oregon State University. It contains not only statistics, but also information about current policies, helpful resources and education programs for students and employees at Oregon State University.
