To ensure those in service to the university with driving as an essential function continue to meet the minimum qualifications for their position, incumbents are required to notify the Office of Human Resources if they no longer possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence or if they no longer have a satisfactory driving history.
A satisfactory driving history does not contain a major traffic offense in the last 36 months (reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants, failing to perform the duties of a driver, criminal driving while suspended, etc.), more than 3 moving violations in the last 12 months, a careless conviction or a Class A traffic infraction in the last 12 months.
Failure to report relevant convictions may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. If the University receives report of a relevant conviction, a new criminal history check and/or motor vehicle history review may be required to confirm the report.
