Dear Campus Community,

I wanted to share with you an important requirement that impacts many of us working in higher education.  Effective January 1 of this year ORS 419B.005 mandates that employees of Oregon higher education institutions are considered by law to be subject to mandatory reporting of child abuse.

To help you better understand your legal obligations under this new law the Office of Human Resources has created this website and a list of Frequently Asked Questions as a central repository of information related to this new law.

To help answer the many questions and concerns associated with this new requirement the Office of Human Resources recorded an open forum to answer questions and go over the basics of the new law.  Additionally, you may also contact your Business Center HR teams for information. 

For those of you who have more frequent contact with minors we will be scheduling specific unit training.  Should you need training tailored to your group please contact Viki Dimick at 7-5355.
