Cultural competence is having an awareness of one’s own cultural identity and views about difference, and the ability to learn and build on the varying cultural and community norms of OSU employees and students. In this program, we will discuss: 

  1. Competency and awareness
  2. Demographics and socio-economic disparities
  3. Cultural influence
  4. Differences between stereotypes and generalizations
  5. Respectful curiosity
  6. Self-assessment of your competency level

 The program includes interactive exercises and group work.
