Self-Report Requirement
Current employees and volunteers must notify Employee and Labor Relations in University Human Resources if they are convicted of a crime and/or major traffic offense on or after their first day of employment/volunteer service. This applies to current employees and volunteers that accept a new opportunity on or after January 1, 2023.
A new background check may be required if the university receives a report of a conviction and/or motor vehicle offense, that is relative to employment, in order to confirm the report. Failure to report relevant convictions/major traffic offenses may result in disciplinary action, up to and including separation from the university.
A conviction does not prevent an individual from being employed by or volunteering for OSU.
