Dual Career Couples

OSU is committed to recruiting talented employees and understands that accepting employment often involves a complex set of decisions about work and family, including employment for the accompanying partner or spouse. For the partners or spouses of newly hired employees, the Work-Life Coordinator can suggest resources to enhance their search for employment inside and outside the OSU community. Services include the following:

• Resources for employment opportunities
• Contacts for informational interviews and networking
• Resources for Resume/CV review
• Resource referral for career transitions

Individuals are encouraged to utilize the Greater Oregon Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (www.goherc.org) free job board to explore employment at other institutions of higher education within the greater Oregon and southern Washington region.TheGreater Oregon Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (GO HERC) provides the most comprehensive higher education job search tools in the Northwest, listing hundreds of jobs from our member colleges and universities, community colleges, teaching hospitals, and research institutes. Its members are committed to diversity hiring and dual-career couples, and our jobs cover the broadest spectrum of business functions, academic disciplines, and career stages. These job search resources are free and open to the public.

Spouses/Partners of OSU employees are also eligible to apply for internal postings at OSU as well as external postings. To apply for an internal posting mention somewhere in your cover letter or resume that you are a part of a dual career couple. 

The coordinator can also send a letter to the search coordinator letting them know you are a part of a dual career couple if you apply for an OSU job. Simply send the coordinator an email at [email protected] with the position number, job title, and name of the hiring coordinator.
