Zoom Open Office Hours for OSU Search Advocates
OSU Search Advocates are invited to bring questions, suggestions and ideas to informal Zoom "drop in" office hours with Anne Gillies (Search Advocate Program Director). Office hours are open to anyone affiliated with OSU - please don't hesitate to stop in and say hello. You may also contact Anne directly at any time with your questions--no need to wait for office hours! If you are not affiliated with OSU, please contact Anne by email ([email protected]) to arrange an individual meeting. Click here for office hours schedule and Zoom link.
Continuing Education Requirement
For quality and consistency search advocates must complete 3 units of continuing education each academic year. As new research emerges, our search advocate guidance is updated to reflect current evidence-based practice. We also learn from search advocate and search committee experiences and revise our recommendations accordingly. This helps search advocates provide consistent and current guidance to their committees using the best available tools.
Each September we review search advocate continuing education credits for the previous 12 months. Search advocates who have earned 3 or more credits during the Sept – Aug period remain eligible to serve; those who haven’t become temporarily ineligible until they complete 3 units of continuing education.
Continuting Education Options sponsored by/focused on the Search Advocate Program
We ask that OSU search advocates use Search Advocate Program-sponsored continuing education options at least every other year to stay current with program resources and recommendations
- 16-hour Search Advocate Foundations Workshop Series (3 units) – some advocates find it helpful to retake this series every 5 years or so, though it is not required.
- Search Advocate Annual Update (3 CE units) – Stay informed about new resources and the latest updates in search advocacy. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and discussion topics.
- Search Advocate Topics sessions (3 CE units each)
- Harnessing the Criteria Matrix: A Tool for Equity
