Organizational Alignment of University Human Resources

As of July 1, 2023, the Office of University Human Resources reports to the Provost and Executive Vice President. The integration of University Human Resources into the Provost Office's organizational structure ensures greater clarity of roles and responsibilities, fostering efficiency in decision-making on personnel matters, employee initiatives, and labor positions, while maintaining a close partnership with the Office of Faculty Affairs.

The Office of University Human Resources (UHR) is the starting point* for employee and labor relations, hiring, compensation, appointment guidelines, benefits, leaves, wellness, university-wide employee training and more. You may either:

*When necessary, UHR professionals will pull in representatives from other relevant offices, including Faculty Affairs. General Counsel, Equal Opportunity and Access, and others.

The Office of University Human Resources (UHR) and the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) collaborate on HR policy matters, with OFA focused on faculty development, academic leadership development, faculty recognition, oversight of academic policies and procedures, and matters related to the promotion and tenure of academic faculty.
