UHR Website Redesign FAQs

As part of our continuous commitment to enhance the digital experience for our valued students, faculty, and staff, University Human Resources (UHR) is in the process of redesigning our web interface. This redesign aligns with the ongoing transition of university web properties to a new and improved version of our content management system, Drupal 10.

This new system empowers us to elevate features, enhance design, and refine the overall user experience while preserving the familiar navigation of the previous version. In the coming months, you’ll witness dynamic changes to UHR’s website design and organization as we strive to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly website.

University Human Resources extends sincere appreciation to the University Information Technology Digital Experience team, the DFA IT team, and the University Marketing and Relations team for their partnership and support in this project.

The website underwent a redesign as part of the university-wide initiative to update all OSU websites with a new digital branding and migrate to a more recent version of our content management sustem, Drupal 10. This modernization process will gradually extend to all OSU websites, providing a more contemporary and cohesive online presence.

This is an update that is available to everyone and cannot be turned off for specific people or devices.

The new design initially impacts the homepage and select pages accessible through the main navigation. Notably, pages such as Careers, New Employees,  and Student Employment have undergone design changes, as they are among the most frequently visited.

While some content has been removed from the front page for a streamlined look, it does remain accessible through the navigational menu and relevant submenus. No timely information has been permanently removed; it has simply been reorganized for a more user-friendly experience.

There have been minimal changes to the URLs or web addresses. Impacted areas include Student Employment, New Employees, and the UHR Calendar & Communications page (previously Operational Excellence).  New bookmarks will be required for these pages. The transition to Drupal 10 allows us to enhance design features, design, and user experience while retaining the familiar navigation properties of the previous version.

The website looks great on any modern browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. If you are still using Internet Explorer, please update to one of the browsers listed above as it is a security risk to continue using it.

This redesign has been tested thoroughly by many users for appearance and usability.

As part of the transition to Drupal 10, you will notice improvements to the site’s functionality. These enhancements aim to provide a smoother and more efficient experience.

If you encounter any issues or have specific questions about functionality, please reach out to DFA IT at [email protected].

The new and improved UHR website launched in Drupal 10 on December 6, 2023. This marks completion of Phase I of our Website Redesign Project.

Phase II will involve ongoing updates to UHR’s web presence, with a focus on re-branding and content re-alignment. This effort is part of a larger initiative to restructure the website.
