Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Analyst-Institutional Research profile is the specialized skills required to apply the knowledge of database systems, data storage and extraction, statistical software and social research design principles and generate useful information for decision makers and the general public. They have university wide scope, providing analysis and research that support university strategic planning, decision-making, and institutional enhancement.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Extracts, validates and prepares data sets; and prepares report submissions for the University, external organizations, State and Federal Agencies. 2. Communicates with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to determine specific data analysis needs. 3. Designs data collection techniques, computer programs and applies statistical methods; prepares tables, dashboards and reports to meet the requirements of departments or publications, including but not limited to, strategic planning, accreditation, academic program reviews, enrollment management, 4. Responds to external data requests, including data surveys or university ranking/profile organizations. 5. Collaborates on, and prepares dataset submissions, reports, and data and tables for external and regulatory agencies.
