Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile provide instructional support and faculty development to students and faculty. They train, consult, assess and provide resources on general research-based pedagogical practices.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Consultant-Instr & Assess profile is distinguished from the Coordinator-Curr Accr & Assess profile by the focus on consultation, training and providing advice to university faculty regarding pedagogical practices including curriculum design and development, instructional strategies, and assessment.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Designs and delivers workshops, seminars and other programs on effective pedagogy, course design and classroom assessment with a particular emphasis on foundational issues in teaching and learning applicable across disciplines. 2. Collaborates with academic services personnel, university administrative bodies and other stakeholders in the development of resources, services and policies, to support teaching and learning. 3. Contributes to the development and integration of best practices in teaching and learning event planning, program development and evaluation, and resource delivery. 4. Researches, completes professional development, and reports on national trends and best practices in pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment and faculty and GTA development.

Typical Requirements
Master’s Degree in Education or related field. 3-5 years of experience in pedagogical approaches, curriculum design principles and student learning and motivation in the postsecondary classroom.
