Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Coordinator-Academic Program profile is the coordination and management of an academic program. Positions manage the overall program including curriculum development, implementation, assessment and outreach. These positions provide subject matter expertise specific to the academic program content.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Plans, develops, coordinates, administers, markets and executes curriculum development, execution and assessment for an academic focused program. 2. Establishes, manages, and maintains collaborations and partnerships with various OSU departments, researchers, and programs as well as resources outside of OSU such as industry leaders, and professional organizations to help build and leverage expertise and resources. 3. Provides educational resources and expertise to internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to serving on campus committees, guest lectures, delivering activities, and serving as an advisor. 4. Researches, compiles, prepares, and composes analysis, data and documents in support of the specialized focus area. 5. May supervise work of classified or unclassified employees, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. May be responsible for hiring, terminating, mentoring, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. 6. May manage a program or project specific budget.

Decisions have major implications on the management and operations of an area within a department; this job may contribute to important strategy, operations, and business decisions that affect the department. Typical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in field related to assigned responsibilities.
