Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile are responsible for the development and management of the LPI online Micronutrient Information Center (MIC). They lead strategic planning efforts for the short-and long-term development of the MIC. They conduct literature research in nutrition to edit, write and update MIC articles while serving as a subject matter expert in the field of nutrition for public and media inquiries. This position requires a terminal degree in an advanced course of study.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Specialist 1-Micronutrient is the unique nature of the research content of the position. This position is providing research regarding micronutrients and nutrition for the Linus Pauling Institute and shared through the Micronutrient Information Center. This position requires a terminal degree and is a subject matter expert in the field of nutrition.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Solicits, writes and edits articles and article updates on micronutrients, phytocehmicals and other dietary factors written for the Micronutrient Information Center and Linus Pauling Institute communications. 2. Reviews and synthesizes research to update exiting content to the Micronutrient Information Center 3. Provides subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders. 4. Participates in outreach efforts to further the goals and objectives of the Micronutrient Information Center.

Typical Requirements
PhD in Nutritional Sciences or related field.
