Positions in this job profile teach non-credit classes to adults to prepare for the General Educational Development test as a part of OSU’s High School Equivalency Program.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Specialist 2-ABE Teacher profile is the responsibility for providing high school equivalency preparatory courses for students in the program.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver GED preparation strategies, curriculum, subject specific activities and materials. 2. Create learning communities for participants in English and/or another language. 3. Develop instructional plans to meet the needs of the students. 4. Provide academic and non-academic support and support tutoring services. 5. Develop education plans for each program participant.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Bilingual English/another language may be required.
