Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile are responsible for the oversight and management of multiple areas of OSU Athletics. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating philosophy, short and longrange goals and objectives. Employees develop, implement and enforce plans, policies, procedures, systems, programs and performance standards. They participate in strategic planning efforts as part of the management team. They are responsible for managing staff, equipment and facilities. They determine resource needs and priorities and make recommendations to executive management. They determine training needs and make appropriate arrangements for provision of training.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Administrator 2-Athletic Ops is the supervisory and managerial responsibilities for the administrative operations of multiple sports within OSU Athletics including personnel management, external relations, and student athlete welfare, and NCAA compliance. Positions participate in the development of the overall strategic vision of OSU Athletics as a part of the senior management team.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides education, leadership, guidance/training and oversight of multiple sports or functional areas within OSU Athletics including budget oversight, human resource management, outreach and engagement and development of policies and procedures. 2. Supervision of professional faculty and classified positions including hiring, firing, responding to grievances, planning work, delegating work, approving/disapproving work, and performing annual evaluations of all staff. 3. Participates as a member of the senior leadership team to develop and implement the overall strategy, mission and vision of OSU Athletics. 4. Provides strategic leadership for all areas affecting student-welfare including development of initiatives based on qualitative and quantitative evaluations of programs and input from students 5. Initiates and participates in internal and external relationships to serve as an Ambassador and promote support of OSU Athletics. 6. Ensures compliance with University policy, state and federal regulations and NCAA, PAC12 rules and regulations.

Problems are highly varied, complex and often non-recurring; require novel and creative approaches to resolution. New concepts and approaches may have to be developed. Decisions have significant, broad implications for the management and operations of a division/entire organization; contributes to decisions on the overall strategy and direction of the entire organization. Accountability
Results are defined by university and division strategy mission, vision, and values; incumbent sets own goals and determines how to accomplish results with few or no guidelines to follow, although precedents may exist; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction. Typically reports to the university Athletic Director. Supervises work of classified or unclassified employees, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. Has responsibility for making decisions on hiring, termination and pay adjustments. Develops and approves program budget and exceptions to program budget. Assists in the development of the division/college/overall organization budget.

Typical Requirements
Master’s degree in related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in collegiate athletic administration.
