Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile are responsible for the management and administration of all activities related to a Revenue Olympic Sport for OSU Athletics. They exercise direct supervision of recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes participating in the sport. The Head Coach is fully responsible for compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations as well as Conference rules and University policies governing intercollegiate athletics.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Administrator 3-Rev Oly H-Coa are the management and administrative responsibilities as Head Coach of an athletic sport that is identified as a Revenue Olympic sport including Women’s Gymnastics, Men’s Wrestling; Men’s Baseball.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides the long term strategic plan for a Revenue Olympic Sport within OSU Athletics that will lead to overall athletic and academic success. 2. Ensures compliance with University policy, state and federal regulations and NCAA, PAC12 rules and regulations. 3. Proposes, maintains and oversees annual budget for the sport program. 4. Supervision of professional faculty and classified positions including hiring, firing, responding to grievances, planning work, delegating work, approving/disapproving work, and performing annual evaluations of all staff. 5. Provides general leadership and training for a team of student athletes for a Revenue Olympic sport, including directing workouts, coordinating with strength and conditioning for appropriate training, teaching and coaching specific sports related skills and strategies. 6. Maintains equipment, purchases new equipment when needed based on experiential analysis. 7. Engages in outreach efforts to internal and external constituents and stakeholders including recruitment of student athletes and participation in fund raising activities which will include appearances and public speaking.

Accountability
Results are defined; incumbent sets own goals and determines how to accomplish results with few or no guidelines to follow, although precedents may exist; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction. Typically reports to a Director. Supervises work of classified or unclassified employees, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. Has responsibility for making decisions on hiring, termination and pay adjustments. Monitors, informs, reports, reconciles and /or moves funds within budgets, drafts, develops, approves within budgets and approves budget exceptions within individual sport.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor's degree. Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level. May require professional certification or licensure.
