Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile perform supervisory and managerial work for a Business Center. Duties performed include developing, implementing, and evaluating short and long-range goals and objectives. Develop, implement and enforce plans, policies, procedures, systems, programs and performance standards. They participate in strategic planning efforts as part of the management team. They are responsible for managing staff, equipment and facilities. They determine resource needs and priorities and make recommendations to executive management. They determine training needs and make appropriate arrangements for provision of training.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Administrator 2-Bus Ctr is the supervisory and managerial responsibilities of the operational function of human resource and business services to multiple units and/or colleges within a university Business Center, including fiscal and human resource functions.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides advice and counsel to and ensures the delivery of business services supporting the missions of multiple units/colleges within a designated Business Center including human resource and fiscal and budget functions. 2. Carries out the overall strategic plan for Finance and Administration by developing, implementing and evaluating short and long range goals for the Business Center. 3. Serves as the key liaison for the Business Center between units/colleges and central Finance & Administration functions, providing advice and counsel on business, fiscal, human resource, administrative matters to the units/colleges of the Business Center. 4. Collaborate and provide advice and counsel to senior administrators on policies and initiatives affecting operations or processes within the units/colleges or Business Center. Provides analysis, reports and supervision of the financial management for units’/colleges’ budget accounts, including assisting senior administrators with projections. 5. Oversee and ensure quality and compliance with university policies, state and federal regulations for fiscal and human resource functions for the units/colleges within the Business Center. 6. Responsible for operational function and supervision of Business Center employees, including day-to-day oversight of work methods, personnel scheduling and effective recommendation of disciplinary actions.

Expectations are defined by senior leadership, division and university mission, vision and strategies. Incumbent sets goals and determines how to accomplish results with few or no guidelines to follow, although precedents may exist; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction. Supervises work of employees, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. Has responsibility for making decisions on hiring, termination and pay adjustments. Develops and approves program budget and exceptions to program budget. Assists in the development of the division/college/overall organization budgets.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or closely related field. 6 years of recent experience managing an organization with complex and competing interests and work elements, including direct or line management experience in business, public administration or related fields.
