Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile require a doctorate degree in psychology to provide psychological or counseling treatment and crisis management to all OSU students, as well as consultation to all OSU faculty and staff. Work may include independent evaluation, testing, diagnosis, assessment, treatment, records management, case management, referral and/or health education.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Specialist 1-Psychologist profile are the responsibilities to provide mental health services and treatment with a PhD, PsyD, or EdD, as a licensed Psychologist. The Specialist 1Psychologist is distinguished from the Specialist 1-Counselor by having the credentials necessary to be the primary supervisor for doctoral interns and psychology residents.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides individual, group, couples counseling/therapy and crisis intervention to students including appropriate assessment methods and brief time sensitive treatment. 2. Maintains files, documentation, written reports and job-related data commensurate with current standards of the profession. 3. Provides training and supervision for Psychology Interns, Psychology Residents, and practicum students, such as co-leading therapy groups, teaching seminars, providing rotation training in area of interest, and providing individual clinical supervision. 4. Ensures compliance with University policies, state and federal laws and regulations and industry standards. 5. Serves as a subject matter expert regarding mental health issues and services by serving on university committees and task forces and providing training and education to faculty, staff and students to promote and support mental health initiatives on campus.

Typical Requirements
PhD, PsyD, or EdD in clinical/counseling psychology, from an APA accredited program and internship or equivalent, or related field. License-eligible in the state of Oregon as a psychologist or other related mental health professional within 18 months of appointment.
