Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Specialist 2-Nutritionist is the specialized certification and education required to nutritionist services and responsibilities.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Develops, implements, facilitates and evaluates nutrition education programs, trainings, presentations, events and initiatives for the student population. 2. Ensures compliance with University policies, state and federal laws and regulations and industry standards. 3. Serves as a subject matter expert regarding nutrition issues and services by serving on university committees and task forces and providing training and education to faculty, staff and students to promote and support nutrition initiatives at the university. 4. Provides individual nutrition education to students, assessment, counseling, and case management of patients based on standard and therapeutic principles. 5. Maintains accurate charting, documentation and records.

Typical Requirements
Master's in Community Nutrition, Health Promotion, Public Health, Exercise Science, or related field. Registered Dietitian. Patient Counseling experience.
