Profile Summary
Positions in this profile perform ultrasonographic procedures, magnetic resonance tomography, and computed tomographic procedures on veterinary patients, under the direction of a Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Specialist 2-Technologist is the specialized certification skills and /or education required to perform ultrasonographic procedures, magnetic resonance tomography, and computed tomographic procedures.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Performs magnetic resonance imaging examinations on small and large animals (clinical patients, research animals or objects and specimens), including utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to imaging factors, imaging technique and patient treatment needed to produce optimal images. 2. Perform computed tomographic (CT) procedures on small and large animals (clinical patients, research animals or objects and specimens). 3. Performs radiographic procedures on small and large animals (clinical patients, research animals, and specimens) using conventional and computed radiography (CR) X-ray equipment. 4. Ensures compliance with University policies, state and federal laws and regulations and industry standards. 5. Maintains records, documentation, inventory and equipment to ensure efficient workflow that complies with quality assurance and industry standards.

Typical Requirements
Primary certification and registry by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography, AND post-primary Computed Tomography (CT) credential or training and confirmation of training in CT. Licensure with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging within 90 days of hire.
