Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile manage the day-to-day operations of sports video for OSU Athletics. They provide ideas and subject matter expertise while ensuring effective, efficient workflow and adherence to policy and standards. They may contribute to the development of the budget and are accountable for managing the budget and activities of staff.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Manager 1-Video profile are the day to day operational responsibilities for video production within OSU Athletics. Positions manage within a budget and provide supervision for employees carrying out the daily work.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides proper video assistance to sports programs as dictated by the PAC10 office which requires most of the sports programs to provide post-game video to opponent. Develops, oversees, and contributes technical expertise to video projects, including writing script, shooting and editing for video projects within a department. 2. Creates budgets, timelines and project management documentation for productions. 3. Ensures programming reflects strategic priorities and policies of the university, state, federal and NCAA regulations. 4. Organizes the distribution and produces productions on the Web, television and through live events. 5. Supervision including plan, assign and approve work; rewards/discipline; respond to grievances; hire/fire (or effectively recommend); prepare and sign performance evaluations/reviews of employees and provide for training provisions. 6. Researches new trends and changing standards in video production and distribution and provides recommendations to leadership regarding acquisition of equipment, techniques and standards that keeps the division current with broadcast standards.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. 6 years of experience producing web and broadcast video content under a brand platform or professional film or broadcast standards.
