Positions in this job profile are responsible for enhancing, elevating and protecting the university's brand image and visibility on campus and in the retail marketplace by ensuring compliance with trademark licensing. They develop strategic measures to increase the royalty revenue for the university by developing the internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Officer-Trademark Licensing profile are the responsibilities to provide oversight for the university’s Trademark Licensing program. Positions work to enhance, elevate, and protect the university's brand image and visibility on campus and in the retail marketplace.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Develops and executes a business plan for the university trademark licensing program, including goals to promote the university, increase royalty revenues, and management of the program budget. 2. Researches, analyzes forecasts, and prepares reports on licensing efforts including royalty growth and/or decline, and budget. 3. Develops and executes a marketing plan including promotional opportunities, campus partnerships, campaigns, and advertising. 4. Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders including licensees, retailers, units across campus and students. 5. Evaluates opportunities for new product development and growth within distribution channels. 6. Ensures and enforces compliance with University policy, state, federal, NCAA, and PAC12 regulations and guidelines pertaining to trademark licensing. 7. Provides specialized education and experience to train and consult University wide regarding trademark licensing regulations, policies, and processes for the university.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 3 years of trademark licensing experience. May require certification or specialized training.
