Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Coordinator-Outreach Program is the coordination and management of outreach programs with the purpose of being responsible to community needs and interests. Positions manage the overall program including curriculum development, implementation, assessment, and outreach. These positions provide subject matter expertise specific to the outreach program content. The CoordinatorOutreach Program is distinguished from the Manager 1-Outrch & Engag profile by the level of decisionmaking and scope of responsibilities. Manager 1-Outrch & Engag manages multiple programs and supervises positions coordinating the individual programs.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Plans, develops, coordinates, administers, and executes strategy, curriculum development, and assessment for an outreach program to reach targeted constituent groups relevant to the mission of the department/unit. 2. Establishes, manages, and maintains internal and external relationships to retain expertise and resources to promote and deliver programs and services, including but not limited to faculty, county, and state agencies and government entities, and community organizations. 3. Compiles, prepares, and composes analysis, data and documents in support of the specialized focus area 4. May create and sustain volunteer development and management that supports delivery of the program. 5. Provide processes to facilitate active communication flow between program participants, volunteers, stakeholders, sponsors, partners, and faculty. 6. Designs and implements marketing efforts to enhance the visibility and participation in the program. 7. Organize and maintain program advisory and management committees to identify program needs, make recommendations, assist in program implementation, and evaluate program effectiveness.

Typical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to program focus. May require certification or licensure as appropriate to the position.
