Positions in this job profile provide instruction and training for basic motorcycle rider training, intermediate rider training, rider skills practice; may work with mobile units, driving and delivering mobile units; position may become mentor instructors to other Motorcycle Safety Instructors.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Motorcycle Safety Instruct profile are the responsibilities to represent TEAM OREGON as instructors that deliver and teach classroom and/or on-cycle courses for motorcycle rider training students of all levels from novice to advanced police. Instructors are responsible for student safety and delivering effective coaching during on-cycle instructional periods. Instructors conduct site and motorcycle maintenance and repair, deliver equipment and collaterals to training sites using program vehicles and trailers, train other instructors, and conduct site compliance audits. Instructors evaluate training and initiate appropriate action. Instructors fulfill course and activity reporting and are lead workers for community outreach.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Collaborates with faculty to determine overall program goals and objectives. 2. Develops and delivers educational programs using TEAM OREGON approved curricula and methods, including recruitment, producing course rosters, records and reports, assessment and course evaluations. 3. Provides coaching, counsel and remediation to students to facilitate learning and maintain student safety. 4. Ensures TEAM OREGON policies, procedures, and site security measures are followed for classroom and range facilities and equipment. 5. Participates in outreach efforts with internal and external stakeholders including presentations, community events to identify community needs and to promote and market educational program to enhance the visibility and participation in the program. 6. Provides subject matter expertise by explaining and interpreting program, policies, and procedures to new employees, students, stakeholders and media. 7. Provides maintenance and fueling for program vehicles and equipment.

Typical Requirements
Motorcycle riding experience, routinely riding two-wheeled motorcycles. Completion of TEAM OREGON Instructor Preparation Range Training and Range Apprenticeship Program. First-aid certification. This position must possess and maintain a current, valid motorcycle endorsement.
