Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile perform administrative, analytical, technical, and functional tasks in support of information technology systems. Positions in this job profile analyze, research and make recommendations regarding Information Technology network systems. Positions share a community of interest with academic faculty, and include academic research, public service, or instruction.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristics of the Analyst-IT Systems profile is the responsibility to create, analyze, and prepare data for and within information technology systems. Positions integrate this data analysis to provide support, review, and recommendations for human resource information systems for the university.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Develops and administers information technology tools and systems to monitor, analyze, and verify data to ensure system and data integrity. 2. Evaluates systems and identifies actions necessary to maintain and improve existing/future systems, including systems used to ensure compliance with University policy, State and Federal guidelines, regulations and reporting requirements. 3. Maintains systems, user interfaces, and associated data pools ensuring minimal downtime and loss of productivity and service. 4. Administers, maintains, tests, and ensures security of unit systems including software, and web-based programs. 5. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to assess needs for data and system analysis and development. 6. Develops metrics, data, and reports to inform executive leadership on university wide policy.

Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department; the job may contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. Results are defined by senior management, division/college and university mission, vision, and strategies; incumbent sets own goals and determines how to accomplish results with few or no guidelines to follow, although precedents may exist; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction. Positions typically do not supervise nor have budget responsibilities.

Collaborates and interacts within the Dept/Unit and University Wide to: • Handle sensitive issues and facilitate collaboration at the highest level. • Persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas, or collaborate on significant projects. • Resolve conflict, negotiate, or collaborate on major projects. • Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and work quality. • Exchange routine, factual information and/or answer routine questions. • Exchange detailed information or resolve varied problems. • Identify needs/concerns of others, determine potential solutions, resolve or redirect appropriately.
Typical Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field May require IT Certification.
