Profile Summary
Positions in this job profile provide review and risk analysis regarding compliance issues. They review university policy guidelines and federal and state regulations to provide facilitation, training and advice on compliance policies and programs.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Positions require education and/or certification and experience that support the position’s responsibilities to provide consultation and training regarding compliance with procedures, policies, laws and regulations relevant to the administration of a program, department, or unit.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides interpretation, consultation and advice on procedures, policies, laws and regulations related to the program and proposal development. 2. Provides subject matter expertise regarding compliance of University policy, state and federal laws and regulations and industry standards specific to the program, department or unit, including coordination, delivery and assessment of training and educational materials and communication. 3. Collects data, conducts analyses, and generates associated reports. 4. Develops and maintains system processes and procedures to ensure timely and effective workflow. 5. Collaborates and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate program, department or unit specific compliance, support and promotion. 6. May prepare compliance documentation for submission to state and federal regulatory authorities and manages document archives for compliance and audit purposes

Results are defined by upper management; existing practices are used as guidelines to determine specific work methods. Carries out work activities independently; supervisor/manager is available to resolve problems. Positions may supervise work of student employees and/or classified employees, including hiring, planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity.

Collaborates and interacts within the Dept/Unit and University Wide to: • Resolve conflict, negotiate or collaborate on major projects. • Access and/or work with sensitive and/or confidential information. • Persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas or collaborate on significant projects. Collaborates and interacts within the Dept/Unit, University Wide, and Externally to: • Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and work quality. • Exchange routine, factual information and/or answer routine questions. • Exchange detailed information or resolve varied problems. • Identify needs/concerns of others, determine potential solutions, resolve or redirect appropriately • Handle sensitive issues and facilitate collaboration as appropriate.
Typical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to work assigned. Experience interpreting and training stakeholders regarding compliance with areas such as policies, laws, regulations and industry standards. May require certification or licensure and/or continuing education.
