Distinguishing Characteristics
The distinguishing characteristic of the Consultant-Career Counselor profile is the overall purpose and responsibility of these positions to educate, guide and prepare students for career paths and opportunities. Positions coordinate internships, programs and connections between OSU students and employers.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Provides individual and group career counseling to students and alumni. 2. Develops and administers outreach programs to inform faculty and students of career planning and career development. 3. Plans and administers career development workshops and seminars to guide students from selection of an academic major through the job-search or application to graduate or professional schools. 4. Creates and maintains marketing materials and websites. 5. Develops and manages technology based career search strategies/technologies and career assessment tools. PROBLEM-SOLVING AND DECISION-M

Typical Requirements
Masters’ degree in Counseling or related discipline. 1 year experience providing counseling or advising.
