University Human Resources (UHR) proudly hosts the New Employee Welcome Program (NEW), a two-part experience designed to get you connected, supported, and ready to thrive at OSU.
New 101: Onboarding
This session gets you set up with the essentials for starting at OSU.
- Complete your Form I-9 requirements.
- Learn about workplace safety, parking, and pay basics.
- Get logged in to my.oregonstate.edu, set up direct deposit, and learn about timesheets.
- Explore resources that support work-life balance, belonging, and mental health.
- Review your medical, dental, and vision benefits, and next steps for enrollment.
Schedule: 2-hour sessions are offered Mondays and Thursdays, in-person or online. New employees are scheduled based on their start date and are notified via email.

New 102: Orientation
This session introduces you to OSU’s community and the wide range of resources available to employees.
- Learn more about OSU’s mission and vision.
- Meet campus partners, including the Ombuds Office and the Office of Equal Opportunity & Access.
- Understand Workers’ Compensation and insurance claim processes.
- Discover health and wellness programs and resources.
- Review your retirement options, and next steps for selection.
- Explore professional learning and development opportunities.
