PERS members in the Individual Account Program (IAP) are currently invested in the default IAP investment option, an age-based IAP Target-Date Fund (TDF). As a result of SB 1049, in September 2020 PERS members can now choose a TDF for the upcoming calendar year that better reflects their retirement savings goals or personal risk tolerance. Forms submitted through the PERS Online Member Services (OMS) can only be completed during September of each year, and are a one-time, irrevocable election. Because 2020 is the inaugural year for Member Choice, paper forms will only be available starting September 1.

Can I make additional voluntary contributions related to the IAP Re-direct?
- SB 1049 provides an option for you to make voluntary contributions, to have a total of 6% of your salary go into your IAP. PERS members can voluntarily elect to make additional after-tax contributions (to be deducted by your employer) of the redirected amount.
- To elect to make voluntary contributions to the IAP, login to your PERS Online Member Services (OMS) account.
