Private Medicare Supplemental & Advantage Plans
- There are multiple plans available on the open market (e.g, Blue Cross, Samaritan, AARP, etc.)
- Refer to SHIBA Guide to Medicare Insurance for additional information on your option

- Enrollment Opportunities
- Subsidies – Tire 1 & Tier 2 members only, must have eight (8) years of service
- Enrollment Meetings held in the Fall & Spring
- If both spouses are PERS retirees, it may be more beneficial to enroll in the PERS plans separately to take advantage of the PERS Subsidies (if eligible)
- DO NOT enroll in a separate Medicare Part D plan if enrolling in a PERS Medicare plan, it is included in the PERS Medicare plan
